U.S. consumer sentiment jumps to five-year high

(Oct. 12, 2012) -- According to the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan's preliminary October reading, consumer sentiment rose to 83.1, up from 78.3 in September. The reading is the highest reported since Sept. 2007, reports Reuters.
